Each morning the app will notify you of your calorie target for the day – which is completely unpredictable. You won’t know what calorie allowance you’ll get until the app tells you.
The app doesn’t tell you what or when to eat, just how much.
You use the app to look up and record the calories you consume during the day until you reach your daily quota.
Some days you will have higher calorie targets, other days your targets will be lower. It is unpredictable, just like it was for your ancestors.
You have a choice of settings within the app – Maintain, Moderate & Aggressive – which affects how restrictive your overall calorie allowance will be.
So, for example, if you want to lose weight quicker, choose the Aggressive Weight Loss setting inside the app when starting a 10 day cycle. This is the most restrictive calorie option available, but will also result in the greatest weight loss.
Here is an example of how your calorie allowance might unfold under the Aggressive Weight Loss setting (based on an adult female with 1800 calorie BMR):
Day 1: 750 calories – Day 2: 1500 calories – Day 3: 800 calories – Day 4: 2000 calories – Day 5: 0 calories – Day 6: 1200 calories – Day 7: 700 calories – Day 8: 500 calories – Day 9: 1250 calories – Day 10: 1500 calories
As you can see, the Aggressive Weight Loss setting will incorporate a single, full day of fasting into a 10 day cycle.
Completing a fast day is not as challenging as you might think. We offer tips on how to get through one if you think you may struggle.
If you would like lose weight more gradually, the Moderate Weight Loss setting is a less intense version of the diet where fast days are omitted and your daily calorie allowances are slightly higher.
