Myth #1: You should be eating 5 small meals per day.
Let’s start with the facts: a daily reality a lot of people have to face is that it just isn’t very easy to find the time or conditions to take 5 meal breaks every day.
Now, the truth is that what we eat, and how much we eat in a meal, matters more than hitting our 5 meal mark each day.
You can safely stick to 3 normal meals per day, and focus your attention more on controlling the overall number of calories you’ve consumed at day’s end, along with the quality of the food you put on your plate.
Myth #2: You have to stay away from bread and pasta.
While it is true that bread and pasta are not exactly friends to weight loss for any particular reason, it doesn’t mean you can’t eat bread and still lose weight.
If they feel hard or very hard to part with, don’t part with them. Just manage how much of it you eat and make sure you still get all of the fibers and grains you need from other sources (such as apples, strawberries, oats, rye and vegetables).
Myth #3: You have to stop eating sweets.
Die-hard candy lovers suffer most from diets, but eating candy is not a major problem. In fact, some are actually less caloric than a cereal bar. The problem is when people eat too much of them.
As long as you respect your daily calorie goal, you can include the occasional sweets into your diet too.
